HOW TO EXPLODE YOUR TRAFFIC WITH PINTEREST | WITHOUT PAID TOOLS
If you are a blogger or trying to grow your business, you have probably heard tons about Pinterest. It is a real game-changer for many bloggers or business owners because they are able to reach more people.
Therefore I expected to see results pretty fast in my blog traffic which (unfortunately!) didn’t happen. What was I missing? And it is possible to grow your Pinterest without any paid tools like Tailwind? I am on a low-budget with my blog and spending an extra ten bugs monthly is not something I want to do.
I discovered some strategies on my own to drive more visitors to my blog. And it actually worked out! So proud that I stuck with Pinterest and didn’t lose my faith.
By the way, If you want to connect and see what I LOVE, follow me on here on Pinterest. I really appreciate your support.
1| MULTIPLE PINS
First things first. Create multiple pins for one blog post or product. This is not about being spammy but rather to create different looks to reach more people. Re-pin to different boards that are related to your content. If you need some inspiration for your boards, scroll down to number seven.
Afterwards take a look at your stats to see what worked and what didn’t.
Which colors attract your readers? What topics are relevant to them? Focus on what works and create more content related to that to grow your audience.
I am a real analytics-junkie. It is no unusual for me to sit down, and refresh my google analytics feed every minute for hours!I am a real analytics-junkie. I can sit down, and refresh my google analytics feed every minute for hours! Click To Tweet
By using a Pinterest business account I was able to see what works for my blog. You can change your regular Pinterest account to a business one very easily and it is FREE! Yay to that!
Also, you can see what kind of people you reach and what they like.
3| PIN DIFFERENT TIMES A DAY
If you’ve read a lil’ about Pinterest strategies you’ll know that pinning at different times a day is key to growing your Pinterest audience.
Replace the time you are spending scrolling through Instagram or Facebook in the train or subway with pinning. We all have several minutes a day left over to spend more intentionally. We all have several minutes a day left over to spend more intentionally. Click To Tweet
You don’t need to pay for extra services like Tailwind when we replace those extra minutes with productivity. Sure, they will save you time but if you are on a low-budget like me, you are still able to grow your business or blog.
You don’t feel motivated at all to go on Pinterest several times a day? Here are some tips to get the motivation back and reach your goal.
4| DON’T LOSE FAITH
If you are struggling to grow your blog or business with Pinterest, under no circumstances lose your faith! Keep going and try out different strategies to see what works best for you.
Some days one of your pins will go semi-viral and you will be over the first hurdle. I recently had one pin going semi-viral (at least for me) and I discovered the full potential of Pinterest! My traffic exploded which you can see in my Traffic & Income from December ‘17.
Even if your pins don’t go viral, by constantly pinning (almost) every day you are able to grow your Pinterest audience. Learn from your mistakes and analytics! You will get to the place where you want to be!
I get ya, Pinterest is time-consuming but it will pay out!
5| SOCIAL MEDIA OVERWHELM
Social media overwhelm is a real thing. Every blogger or entrepreneur gets caught up with the stress to post on every account of yours frequently.
A few weeks back I was feeling desperate and devastated. My Instagram feed wasn’t looking like I wanted it to and nobody was following me. I got on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and it was the same huge mess on there. Everyone else seemed to have perfectly branded and funny accounts with tons of pictures with their adorable dogs.
What you can do to beat social media stress? Read more here.
No, Hashtags are not just for Instagram or Twitter! Write a good description for your pin using #hashtags. Y’all know what hashtags are. They are words to describe what your pin is about.
It helps other people to find relevant posts to their needs.
7| AWESOME BOARDS TO CREATE
- ‘GONNA READ’
I am so happy to give this tip to you! Pin images constantly can be really exhausting. Create a board called ‘Going To Read’ so you are able to pin more and easier. You can pin every image that catches your attention to this board and revisit it when you have more time.
Afterwards you can also organize the pins from this board to your other boards specific to that topic.
You have read an awesome blog post that you don’t want to forget about? Create a board with all your favorite blog posts of all time.
- ‘MY FAVS//MY BLOG’
You need a board to re-pin your own content? Create a board for your favorite blog posts from your blog.
8| CREATE PIN-WORTHY IMAGES
Be sure to create images you would re-pin on your own. If you don’t know what attracts your reads, take a look at the pins you recently pinned or clicked on.
What did they use?
These are all relevant questions to figure out what will work on Pinterest.
I absolutely love Canva to create my images. It is free and you have almost no limitation to your creativity.
9| HOVER BUTTON
Maybe you have noticed that a lil’ pin-it button pops up when you touch one of my pictures. Those are called hover buttons which helps you to pin my content to one of your boards if you enjoyed reading it.
At first I was totally overwhelm and didn’t really know how to do that. By watching some Youtube videos it became clear what I had to do to install the button.
It was actually pretty easy, once you’ve done it. If you’d like to see tutorial about that, let me know in the comments or via firstname.lastname@example.org
