DIY MACBOOK COVER – CHEAP, EASY & BEAUTIFUL
I have been looking for a nice cover for my MacBook for quiet some time now but haven’t found the right one for me yet. That is when I decided to just make my own one. I love the color pink, so that is what I chose for the cover. Another advantage of this cover is that you can redo it however often you want to. You don’t have to buy a new one if you don’t like the colors anymore.
Here is my step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Preparation
I went into a store and bought a really cheap plastic cover. It doesn’t have to be good-looking or expensive; just simple and plain. Get some brushes too. I recommend big fluffy ones because it will be easier and faster to color the whole cover with them. I used acrylic colors to paint but you can use any kind of color you want (I don’t think watercolors will work but you can try it and tell me how it worked out).
Step 2: Painting The Cover
This was my first try to color the whole thing. I repainted it after that because I didn’t like the way it looked.
Tip: Put some old newspapers underneath it so you will not paint your floor or table.
This is the final result. You can try out different ways on putting the color on. You can dab or brush it on. Try out what suits you and if you don’t like what you see just repaint it.
Step 3: Show The Apple (optional)
I love the apple so I wanted to show it but through the color you couldn’t really see it. You can scratch the color off the cover with your nails or another sharp object. Now the apple is shining through the cover.
