HOW TO GET A KICK-ASS BLOG
I am talking you through some really helpful articles that will help you to make the first steps when starting or improving your blog. At first I was so intimidated by the actual writing that I waited about a week before I wrote my first post. It’s gotten a little easier but to be honest it’s still kinda weird.
THE FIRST POST
The first post that helped me to ignore my fear and start blogging is “7 Fears I Had Before I Started Blogging” by Sam from ‘Smart Twenties’. I was scared that nobody would read what I have to say so she helped me to overcome this fear. Everyone is scared at first, and it is so comforting to know that you are not the only one. Sam is an amazing writer who is honest about her feelings.
I think most people don’t start a blog not because they are bad writers or not motivated to do it but because they are scared and intimidated.
LIFESTYLE BLOGGING 101
The next post is “Lifestyle Blogging 101” by Rosie from ‘The Londoner’. She tells her story about why she started blogging and gives helpful advise for the first steps. One thing she said is still in my mind: “Just relax and enjoy it. I always say, just pretend you’re sitting across from your friend on a sofa with a nice cup of tea telling them about your day. Write as you would speak.”
Maybe you have heard of SEO which is the Search Engine Optimization. It is really confusing to me but the post “6 Easy Ways to SEO Your Next Blog Post” by ‘The Bellezza Corner’ made it much easier for me to understand it (at least for a bit).
You have trouble with making good still life pictures for your blog? Definitely check this blog post out: “How to Style Overhead Still Life Photos” by the Nesting Place.
I mean just look at her pictures! I can just dream of taking such good pictures!
And if you need tips on “How To Be More Creative” by A. J. Jacobs for your blog posts I recommend checking this article out. It has a funny writing style and I just reading it over and over again.
A lesson that he taught me? “Accept failure. Enjoy it, even. Embrace the suck, for the suck is part of the process.” (Ha Ha, isn’t that genius?!)
